PlainDealingLA.com is for anyone who has ever had any connection to or otherwise is interested in the unique small town, Plain Dealing, Bossier Parish, Louisiana. Your “host” is Bill Pittman, Class of ‘71. I first announced this site in the summer of 2009. Official Grand Opening is Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2009.
And with that, I give thanks for all of the friends I have as a result of being born and raised in Plain Dealing. The older I get, the more I miss my friends. So, I built this site to bring us together!
My goal for this site is to become an online “watering hole” and community site for anyone ever having a connection to Plain Dealing. Members will spend time sharing stories and making posts about this and that, communicating with one another. This site can be somewhat like Twitter or Facebook where people post something casual but much of your enjoyment will come from the more insightful and memorable posts. Memories, ideas, posts that you think other members will be interested in. Or just say hello to a member whom you haven’t seen in a long time.
Once you join the forum (see below), you will also be able to post photos. Share yours! I will also be hosting some photo scanning “parties” where you’ll bring old photos and I’ll scan them to put them on the site. It will be a great resource and give much pleasure to members, viewing old family photos, historical photos, stories about the “old days.” (The “old days” changes for every generation!)
I have much to do to make all of this work properly, so, be patient as the site evolves. And, I’m always open to suggestions.
This site will be “G-rated” and membership is open for those age 18 and older.
REQUEST: I announce a grand project — the biggest homecoming ever for Plain Dealing — Friday, October 15 through Sunday, October 17, 2010. My request is to see how fast we can spread the word about this new site and the October 2010 homecoming. I will be implementing some tools to help you spread the word. For now, please do the following:

- Invite your friends to visit PlainDealingLA.com. Send your invite to everyone on your email list who has a connection to Plain Dealing. Let’s see how fast we can get 100 members!
