1st Annual Hootenanny Homecoming (2010 reunion)
August 15, 2010
Dear Friends:
I announced this Homecoming dream over a year ago and I am uncertain as to how many people are interested in this. There are eight weeks to go. If you are interested, please speak up and quickly! I need to have a BUNCH of people raise their hand within the next week. If there are not enough people interested, I will have to scrap this as I have significant commitments (such as the band and food arrangements).
Who’ll raise their hand?
UPDATE — August 25, 2010 — IT’S OFFICIAL… the October 16 main event is a GO. As for the Friday and Sunday activities, please contact Bill Pittman if you are interested.
COOL October temps, nice crisp fall weather!
Friends from yesteryear! Memories and laughter!
Good food, good music, including autobiographical songs about growing up in PD and beyond! (Or, as per my mother, “You think you’ve grown up?”)
BELOW IS THE PAGE THAT WAS PUT UP LAST THANKSGIVING, 2009.

This has been in planning for months and was first announced during the summer of 2009 but now, Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2009, it’s official! Please make plans to attend a grand event — Hootenanny Homecoming 2010.
Other than the homecoming gatherings, I am a songwriter and I have written a lot of material about Plain Dealing, the surrounding area and people I have known here. I will hold a very special concert Saturday night, October 16, 2010 and play a set of songs, taking you down Memory Lane. The concert will be recorded with pro-grade sound equipment.
We hope to make this homecoming one of the funnest events in town history. Lunch at Annie Lou’s, a Beatles tribute show, Saturday social, concert, then more socializing and “whatever goes.” If anyone is interested, we’ll end with a final gathering, a Sunday cookout/picnic event at Plain Dealing Lake. Remember the lake? Of course, you do!
This event will allow us to see people we haven’t seen in decades and I don’t mean to sound morbid, but realize that it may be the last time you will see some of these people. (Hopefully, you’ll attend every event so that you can spend a little time with everyone!)
The October weather will be awesome, don’t miss this homecoming!
(Note to Bill: Sunrise, 7:20am; Sunset, 6:40pm.)
Thanks!
